Giant software conglomerate Microsoft is set ready to release its very own free Antivirus codenamed "Morro". This release is slated to be out by the second half of next year 2009 and made to be compatible with Windows 7 as well as older versions of Windows such as Windows Vista RTM/SP1/SP2 and Windows XP SP3. The new software Morro will also see the inclusion of award winning malware protection engine, a move welcomed by current users of Windows Defender.
Replacing its existing subscription-based Windows Live OneCare service, Morro picks up from where the former left off with promises of utilising fewer resources and hence better catered to less powerful computer systems. Let us hope that this new antivirus Morro will live up to its promises as we end-users cannot take another letdown which see Windows Live OneCare service ranking last in a test of 15 anti-virus products a year ago.At the very least try to give the top five established anti-virus softwares a run for their money?
